Aur jo log iman laye aur nek amal karte rahe, unn ko (Aye Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم) khush-khabri suna dijiye ke, unn ke liye aise baghaat hain jin ke neeche nehrein beh rahi hain, jab bhi unhe wahan kisi qism ka mewah khaane ko diya jayega, to wo kahenge ke, ye to wohi hai jo hume pehle bhi diya gaya tha, aur wahan unn ko ek doosre ke hum shakal mewe diye jayenge aur unn ke liye paak biwiyaan hongi, aur wo uss me rahenge hamesha hamesha.

Iss ayat me samajhne ke 10 alfaaz me se hum, teen alfaaz ki tafseel sunn chuke hain, aur aaj Lafz-e-Jannaat ka teesra hissa hum bayan karenge,

Lafz-e-Jannat par ahadith me;

  • Allah Ta’ala ke 99 naam hain, asma’ul husna hain, jo koi unhe yaad karega, wo jannat me dakhil hoga.[6]
    • Ye yaad karne ka jo tarjuma kiya gaya hai, wahan Arabi me lafz, ahsaaha aya hai, jis ke maane, ginti karne, aakhri ism tak pahunchne aur unn ko samajhne, aur unn ka ilm hasil karne ke maane aaye hain.

    • Aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, ye amal itna chhotta hai lekin iss ko karne walay bohot hi kum hain.
    • Ek aur hadith me farmaya ke, 10 baar Surah al-Ikhlas parrhne se jannat me ek mahal banaya jata hai.[12]
    • Iss amal ki koi limit nahi hai, kitne mahal chahiye jannat me? Dus dus baar surah al-ikhlas parrhte chale jaiyye,
    • Aur bhi azkaar hain, wo hum In Sha Allah agay bayan karenge.
  • Ek hadith me aap ne farmaya ke, Qazi ya judge teen qism ke hote hain, ek jannat me jayega aur do jahannam me;
    • Jo jannat me jayega, wo shakhs hoga jo haq ko jaanta hai yani sahih kya hai usay maloom hai aur uss ki bina par wo faisla sunata hai,
    • Doosra wo shakhs hai, jo sahih kya hai wo jaanta to hai lekin ghalat faisla sunata hai apni sarkashi me aur dozakh me chala jata hai,
    • Teesra shakhs wo hai jo na to haq kya hai wo jaanta hai aur na hi sahih faisla sunata hai, aisa shakhs bhi jahannam me hoga.[13]

    •  Aur main uss shakhs ke liye jannat ke beech me ek ghar ki guarantee deta hoon, zamanat deta hoon, jo mazaq ke liye bhi jhoott bolna chhorrh deta hai,
    • Aur main achhe akhlaaq walay ke liye jannat ke oonche hisse me ek ghar ki zamanat deta hoon.[15]
  • Bukhari ki ek hadith me farmaya Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, meri ummat ke tamam log jannat me dakhil honge, siway unn logon ke jo inkaar karenge,
    • Aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) se poochha gaya ke, kis ne inkaar kiya?
    • Aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, jis ne meri itteba ki, wo jannat me dakhil hoga,
    • Aur jis ne meri na-farmani ki, mera kaha nahi mana, uss ne mera inkaar kiya.[16]
    • Aaj iss zamane me kayee log aise hain musalmano me jo ahadith ka inkaar karte hain, aise log hosh me ayen,
    • Aur Allah Ta’ala se dua hai ke, unhe aur hume Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ka farma-bardar bana de.[17]
  • Jo shakhs La Ilaha Illa Allah kehte huwe marega, wo jannat me dakhil kar diya jayega.
  • Marne ke baad, jab mayyat ko qabr me rakh diya jata hai, to ek farishta uss ke paas aa kar poochhta hai ke,
    • Tumne kis ki ibadat ki?
    • Allah uss ki madad karte hain, aur wo kehta hai ke, maine Allah ki ibadat ki,
    • Uss se phir sawal hota hai ke, tumhara iss shakhs (yani Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم)) ke baare me kya khayal hai?
    • Wo kehta hai ke, Ye to Allah ke Bande aur Rasool hain,
    • Uss se kuch aur nahi poochha jata hai, aur usay dozakh ki taraf le jaya jata hai aur uss ka dozakh me jo tthikana tha wo dikhaya jata hai, aur uss se kaha jata hai ke, tumhara ye tthikana tha, Allah ne tumhe bacha liya, aur tum par reham farmaya aur iss ke badle jannat me ek tthikana de diya…[18]
    • Bukhari ki ek aur hadith me Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, jannat me dakhil hone se pehle har shakhs ko uss ka jahannam ka tthikana bhi dikhaya jayega, takay wo mazeed shukr kare, aur issi tarah jahannam me dakhil hone se pehle, har shakhs ko uss ka jannat ka tthikana bhi dikhaya jayega, takay wo uss ke liye hasrat aur afsos ka ba’is banay.[19]
    • Ek aur hadith me aya hai ke, do farishte aa kar qabr me mayyat ko uttha kar bitthayenge, aur uss ko poochhenge ke, tumhara Rabb kaun hai,
    • Wo kahega ke, mera paalne wala malik Allah hai,
    • Uss se wo farishte poochhenge ke, uss ka deen kya hai?
    • Wo kahega ke, Mera deen Islam hai,
    • Uss se poochhenge ke, ye shakhs kaun hai jo aigham de kar apne logon me bheje gaye thay?
    • Wo kahega ke, Ye Allah ke Rasool (صلى الله عليه وسلم) hain,
    • Uss se poochha jayega ke, ye sawalon ke jawab usay kaise pata hain?
    • Wo kahega ke, uss ne Allah ki kitab Quran parrha, uss par iman laya, aur uss ki taleemat ko sach mana.
    • Phir ek awaaz ayegi ke, mere bande ne sach kaha hai, to uss ke liye jannat ka bistar bichha do, aur jannat me jaane ka darwaza khol do,
    • To ek darwaza uss ki qabr me khol diya jata hai jo jannat ki taraf le jata hai, udhar se jannat ki khushboo aur thandi hawa aati rehti hai aur qabr ko itna wasee kar diya jata hai, jahan tak ke aankh dekh sakti hai…iss ke aagay dozakhi ke sath kya mamela hoga wo bayan kiya gaya hai, jo hum pehle sunn chuke hain.[20]
    • Bukhari aur Muslim ki ek hadith me aya hai ke, marne ke baad jannati ko jannat me uss ki jagah roz subah aur sham dikhayi jayegi aur jahannami ko dozakh me uss ki jagah roz subah aur sham dikhayi jayegi.[21]
  • Jannatiyon ka percentage bataya gaya hai ek hadith me, Allah Ta’ala Adam (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) se kahenge ke, dozakhiyon ko bahar nikaalo,
    • Adam (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) poochhenge ke, dozakhi kitne hain,
    • Allah Ta’ala farmayenge ke, har ek hazar me se 999 nau sau ninyanawe honge,
    • Sahaba (رضي الله عنهم) ne poochha ke, wo kaun sa akela khush qismat hoga jo jannat me jayega,
    • Iss par aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, wo ek shakhs tum me se hoga aur 999 yajooj aur majooj me se honge…[22]
    • To jannat me jaane walon ka percentage 0.1% hoga.
  • Ek shakhs ko qiyamat ke din laya jayega, Allah (رَبُّ الْعِزَّة) farmayenge ke, iss ko sagheera gunah dikhao jo iss ne kiye aur kabeera gunahon ko chhupa do,
    • Uss se kaha jayega ke, iss din, iss tareekh ko tu ne ye gunah kiya,
    • Wo apne gunahon ko qubool kar lega, aur wo dar raha hoga apne kabeera gunahon ke baare me,
    • Hukum hoga ke, iss ke har gunah ko neki se badal diye jaye,
    • Wo kahega ke, maine jo gunah kiye wo yahan nahi dikhayi de rahe hain.[23]
  • Qiyamat ke din, sirf Allah ki badshahat hogi, koi baat nahi kar sakega Allah (رَبُّ الْعِزَّة) ke saamne, wohi bol sakta hai jisay Allah Ta’ala ne ijazat di hogi, Log shifa’at chahenge, koi recommend kar de, koi waasta chal jaye, ya jaisa hum india me kehte hain koi waseela mil jaye;
    • Iss silsilay me ek hadith milti hai, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, mere paas mere Rabb, mere paalne walay malik ki taraf se ek shakhs aya aur uss ne mujhe choice di ke meri adhi ummat jannat me dakhil hogi ya shifa’at, to maine shifa’at ko ikhtiyar kiya aur ye unn logon ke liye hogi jinhone apni zindagi me shirk nahi kiya hoga.[24]
    • Ek hadith me farmaya ke, kya meri shifa’at nek logon ke liye hogi, nahi, ye na paak gunahgaaron ke liye hogi.[25]
    • Qiyamat ke din log intezaar me honge, waqt guzar raha hoga aur Qiyamat ke din ki karwayi shuru nahi hogi, shifa’at ki zaroorat padegi, koi Allah Ta’ala ko recommend kare ke, karwayi shuru ki jaye,
    • Kisi ki himmat nahi hogi ke, Allah Ta’ala se ye keh de ke, karwayi shuru ki jaye, log Adam (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) se lekar Muhammadur Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) tak jayenge, har nabi apna apna uzr pesh karega ke wo iss kaam ke layeq nahi aur Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ki shifa’at se Qiyamat ke din ki karwayi shuru hogi.[26]
    • Ek hadith me aya hai ke, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, Qiyamat ke din ek pukaarne wala pukar kar kahega ke, jis khuda ki tum pooja karte thay, uss khuda ki itteba karo, har koi apne apne khuda’on, murtiyon aur buton ke peechhe chal padenge, siway unn logon ke jo duniya me Allah ki ibadat kiye thay, unn me nek bhi honge aur gunahgaar bhi honge.
    • Allah Ta’ala unn ke paas aa kar kahenge, tum kis ka intezaar kar rahe ho, wo Allah Ta’ala ko nahi pehchaanenge, unn ke liye nishani hogi ke, wo Allah ko sajdah kare, lekin wohi log sajda kar payenge, jinhe Allah Ta’ala ijazat denge.
    • Phir dozakh par pul sirat dala jayega aur yaha bhi shifa’at ki ijazat di jayegi, momin uss par se palak jhapakne jitni dayr me guzar jayenge, koi bijli ki raftaar se guzrega, koi tez hawa ki raftaar se, to koi parinde ki raftar se, to koi daudhte huwe ghoday aur oontt ki raftaarse, pul sirat par se baaz log bach kar nikal jayenge, baaz zakhmi hote huwe guzrenge, aur baaz kat kat kar dozakh me girenge,[27]
    • Ek aur hadith me hai ke, jannat me jaane ke liye bhi log intezaar me honge, kisi ki himmat nahi hogi ke Allah Ta’ala se keh de ke jannat ka darwaza khol de,
    • Log Adam (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ke paas jayenge, wo kahenge ke main iss kaam ke layeq nahi hoon,
    • Phir Nuh (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ke paas jayenge, phir Ibrahim (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ke paas, phir Musa (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ke paas, phir Isa (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ke paas jayenge Allah se shifa’at karne ke liye lekin sab anbiya apna apna uzr batayenge ke wo ye kaam nahi kar sakte,
    • aur aakhir me Muhammadur Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ke paas log ayenge, aur aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) Allah se ijazat maangenge, aap ko ijazat milegi aur aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) sajde me girr jayenge, aap se kaha jayega ke maango kya maangte ho, aap ki baat suni jayegi, shifa’at maani jayegi aur aap jo maangenge ata kiya jayega,
    • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) apna sar utthayenge aur Allah ki aisi hamd bayan karenge, jo unhe uss waqt sikhayi jayegi,
    • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) pehle shakhs honge, jis ke liye jannat ka darwaza khola jayega, aur sab se pehle aap jannat me dakhil honge,[28]
    • Aap se kaha jayega ke, apni ummat ke unn logon ko jannat ke seedhay hath walay darwaze se dakhil karwaiyye, jo bina hisab kitab ke dakhil honge, waise wo jis darwaze se chahe dakhil ho sakte hain.[29]
    • Phir jab jannati jannat me chale jayenge aur jahannami dozakh me,
    • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko ijazat milegi kuch khaas logon ko dozakh se nikaal kar jannat me dakhil karne ke liye, ek hadith me farmaya ke, Jannat me sab se pehle shifa’at karne wala main rahoonga, jis ki ummat kaseer tedad me hogi, Nabiyon me baaz nabi aise honge, jin ka ek hi ummati hoga.[30]
    • Doosri ahadith me aya hai ke, kisi nabi ke thoday se ummati honge, aur kisi ke bohot zyada, jaisa Musa (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ki ummat bhi bohot zyada tedad me hogi, aur sab se zyada Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ki ummat ki tedad hogi, aur ye sab kuch aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko iss duniya me dikha diya gaya tha.
    • Phir se aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) Allah ke saamne sijde me girr jayenge, phir Allah Ta’ala ki ijazat se dobara aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) logon ko dozakh ki aag se nikaal kar jannat me dakhil karwayenge,
    • Teen baar aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko ijazat milegi dozakh se logon ko nikaal kar jannat me dakhil karwane ki, aur iss ke baad koi nahi bachega dozakh me, siway unn logon ke, jinhe Quran ne qaid kiya huwa hoga.[31]
    • Matlab ye hai ke, Qiyamat ke din Quran baaz logon ke khilaaf gawahi dega, iss liye to wo dozakh me uss ki wajah se qaid honge.
    • Rasoolullah ki shifa’at se jin logon ko dozakh se bahar nikala jayega, wo jannat me dakhil honge aur unhe jahannami ke naam se bulaya jayega.[32]
    • Ek aur hadith me Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, Baaz log dozakh me, apne gunahon ki wajah se waqti taur par saza payenge, aur uss saza ki wajah se wo jal kar koyla bann jayenge, aur unn logon ko shifa’at mil jayegi aur wo groups me bahar nikaale jayenge aur jannat ki daryaon ke kinaaron par daal diye jayenge, aur jannatiyon se kaha jayega ke, inn par paani daalo, aur wo uss me se aise ugenge jaisa ke beenj se paudha nikal aata hai…[33]
    • Ye shifa’at karne ka jo martaba hai, iss ko aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, yehi Maqaam-e-Mahmood hai,[34] jis ka aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) se Allah ne wada kiya hai, aur hum apni dua’on me maangte hain ke ye fazeelat Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko mil jaye.
    • Ek hadith me farmaya ke, jab muadhin azan de, to wo jo keh raha hai, yani azan ke alfaaz dohrao aur mujh par durood bhejo aur mere liye waseela maango, jo ek manzil hai, ya jannat me ek position hai, jo kisi ek shakhs ko milega aur mujhe ummeed hai ke wo mujhe milega. To jo koi ye kaam karega, wo meri shifa’at ka haqdaar hoga.[35]
    • Matlab ye ke, Wasila ka position aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko milega to kya hoga? Uss position ko bhi aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ummat ko faida pahunchane ke liye istemaal karenge.
    • Yani ke na sirf iss duniya me Rehmatul lil alameen (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ke zariye logon ko faida pahuncha, aakhirat me bhi aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko jannat ka highest position milne ke bawajood logon ko faida pahuncha rahe hain.
    • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ke alawa bhi log shifa’at karenge, ek aur hadith me Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke Banu Tamim, jo uss waqt ka sab se bada qabila mana jaata tha, Banu Tamim ke qabile ki tedad se zyada log jannat me dakhil kiye jayenge, meri ummat ke ek aadmi ki shifa’at ke zariye.[36]
    • Ek aur hadith me farmaya ke, meri ummat me kuch aise log hain jin ki shifa’at se, Mudar qabile ke logon ki tedad se zyada log jannat me jayenge.[37]
    • Phir ek hadith me farmaya ke, ek shaheed apne khandan ke 70 logon ki shifa’at kar sakega.[38]
    • Farishte aur Anbiya (عَلَيْهِم ٱلسَّلَام) ko ijazat milegi shifa’at karne ki, aag dozakhiyon ka sab kuch jala chuki hogi, siway peshani par sajde ki jagah ke, aise logon ko nikaal kar jannat me dakhil kiya jayega,[39]
    • Iss ka matlab ye hai ke, namazi bhi dozakh me jayenge, rozedaar bhi dozakh me jayenge, haji bhi dozakh me jayenge, ek kaseer tedad logon ki iss tareeqe se dozakh se nikaal kar jannat me daali jayegi.[40]
  • Bukhari aur Muslim ki ek hadith me, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, jo aakhri shakhs dozakh se niklega, wo rengta huwa bahar ayega, Allah Ta’ala uss se kahenge ke, ja jannat me dakhil ho ja, wo ja kar dekhega aur usay wo bhari huwi lagegi, wo wapas aa kar kahega, mere Rabb ye to bhari huwi hai, do baar aisa hoga, teesri baar Allah Ta’ala uss se kahenge ke, ja jannat me dakhil ho ja, tere liye duniya bhar me jo khazana ya daulat thi uss ka dus gunah jannat me hai. Wo Allah Ta’ala se kahega ke, kya tu mera mazakh uda raha hai, jab ke tu badshah hai, jab ke tu rabbul alameen hai? Aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, ye aadmi aakhri shakhs hoga jannat me dakhil hone wala.[41]

Yahan aaj ka dars rok denge. Iss lafz par ahadith aur bhi hain jo hum Next Saturday In Sha Allah sunenge.

[1] It has been reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: God laughs at the two men one of whom kills the other; both of them will enter Paradise. They (the Companions) said: How, Messenger of Allah? He said: One is slain (in the way of Allah) and enters Paradise. Then God forgives the other and guides him to Islam; then he fights in the way of Allah and dies a martyr.

[5] Narrated Abu Dhar: While I was walking with the Prophet in the Harra of Medina, Uhud came in sight. The Prophet said, “O Abu Dhar!” I said, “Labbaik, O Allah’s Apostle!” He said, “I would not like to have gold equal to this mountain of Uhud, unless nothing of it, not even a single Dinar of it remains with me for more than three days, except something which I will keep for repaying debts. I would have spent all of it (distributed it) amongst Allah’s Slaves like this, and like this, and like this.” The Prophet pointed out with his hand towards his right, his left and his back (while illustrating it). He proceeded with his walk and said, “The rich are in fact the poor (little rewarded) on the Day of Resurrection except those who spend their wealth like this, and like this, and like this, to their right, left and back, but such people are few in number.” Then he said to me, “Stay at your place and do not leave it till I come back.” Then he proceeded in the darkness of the night till he went out of sight, and then I heard a loud voice, and was afraid that something might have happened to the Prophet .1 intended to go to him, but I remembered what he had said to me, i.e. ‘Don’t leave your place till I come back to you,’ so I remained at my place till he came back to me. I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! I heard a voice and I was afraid.” So I mentioned the whole story to him. He said, “Did you hear it?” I replied, “Yes.” He said, “It was Gabriel who came to me and said, ‘Whoever died without joining others in worship with Allah, will enter Paradise.’ I asked (Gabriel), ‘Even if he had committed theft or committed illegal sexual intercourse? Gabriel said, ‘Yes, even if he had committed theft or committed illegal sexual intercourse.”

[11] “Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr: The Prophet (saws) said: There are two qualities or characteristics which will not be returned by any Muslim without his entering Paradise. While they are easy, those who act upon them are few. One should say: “Glory be to Allah” ten times after every prayer, “Praise be to Allah” ten times and “Allah is Most Great” ten times. That is a hundred and fifty on the tongue, but one thousand and five hundred on the scale. When he goes to bed, he should say: “Allah is Most Great” thirty-four times, “Praise be to Allah” thirty-three times, and Glory be to Allah thirty-three times, for that is a hundred on the tongue and a thousand on the scale. (He said:) I saw the Messenger of Allah (saws) counting them on his hand. The people asked: Messenger of Allah! How is it that while they are easy, those who act upon them are few?  He replied: The Devil comes to one of you when he goes to bed and he makes him sleep, before he utters them, and he comes to him while he is engaged in prayer and calls a need to his mind before he utters them.”

[18] Anas b. Malik said:The Messenger of Allah(may peace be upon him) entered the garden of the palm trees of Banu al-Najjar. He heard a voice and was terrified. He asked: Who are the people buried in these graves? The people replied: Messenger of Allah! These are some people who died in the pre-Islamic times. He said: Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the fire, and the trail of Antichrist. They asked: Why is it that, Messenger of Allah? He said: When a man is placed in his grave, an angel comes to him and says to him: Whom did you worship? Allah then guides him and he says: I worshiped Allah. He is then asked: What was your opinion of this man? He replies: He is Allah’s servant and His Apostle. He will not then be asked about anything else. He will then be taken to his abode in Hell and will be told: This was your abode in Hell, but Allah protected you and had mercy on you substituted for you an abode in Paradise for it. He will say: Leave me so that I may go and give glad tidings to my family. He will be told: Dwell. When an infidel is placed in his grave, an angel comes to him, reprimands him and asks him: Whom did you worship? He replies: I do not know. He will be told: You neither knew nor did you follow(the believers). He is then asked: What was your opinion on this man? He replies: I held the opinion that the other people held. He will then give him a blow between his ears with an iron hammer and will utter a shout which will be heard by all the creatures(near him) with the exception of men and jinn.

They will ask him what made him aware of this, and he will reply that he read God’s Book, believed in it, and considered it true, which is verified by God’s words, ‘God establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm…’ (Quran, xiv, 27) Then a crier will call from heaven, ‘My servant has spoken the truth, so spread a bed for him from paradise, clothe him from paradise, and open a door for him into paradise.’ A door will then be opened for him towards paradise, some of its air and perfume will come to him, and a space will be made for him in it as far as the eye can see.” He also mentioned the death of the infidel, saying, “His spirit will be restored to his body, two angels will come, make him sit up and ask him who his Lord is, to which he will reply, ‘Alas, alas, I do not know.’ They will ask him what his religion is, and he will reply, ‘Alas, alas, I do not know.’ They will ask him about this man who was sent on a mission among his people, and he will reply, ‘Alas, alas, I do not know.’ Then a crier will call from heaven, ‘He has lied, so spread a bed for him from hell, clothe him from hell, and open a door for him into hell.’ Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him, and his grave will become restricted so that his ribs will be pressed together. One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him, having a sledgehammer such that if a mountain were struck with it it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it and he will utter a shout which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn, and he will become dust. Then his spirit will be restored to him.” [Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it]

[22] “Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:The Prophet said, “Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection), ‘O Adam.’ Adam will reply, ‘Labbaik wa Sa`daik’, and all the good is in Your Hand.’ Allah will say: ‘Bring out the people of the fire.’ Adam will say: ‘O Allah! How many are the people of the Fire?’ Allah will reply: ‘From every one thousand, take out nine-hundred-and ninety-nine.’ At that time children will become hoary headed, every pregnant female will have a miscarriage, and one will see mankind as drunken, yet they will not be drunken, but dreadful will be the Wrath of Allah.” The companions of the Prophet asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! Who is that (excepted) one?” He said, “Rejoice with glad tidings; one person will be from you and one-thousand will be from Gog and Magog.” The Prophet further said, “By Him in Whose Hands my life is, hope that you will be one-fourth of the people of Paradise.” We shouted, “Allahu Akbar!” He added, “I hope that you will be one-third of the people of Paradise.” We shouted, “Allahu Akbar!” He said, “I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise.” We shouted, “Allahu Akbar!” He further said, “You (Muslims) (compared with non Muslims) are like a black hair in the skin of a white ox or like a white hair in the skin of a black ox (i.e. your number is very small as compared with theirs).”

The man will be brought forth on the Day of Resurrection, and the command will be given: “Show him his minor sins, and let his major sins be hidden from him!” He will therefore be told: “On such-and-such a day, you committed such-and-such and such-and-such sins!” He will acknowledge [his sins] and not disavow them and he will be fearful of those sins that are major offenses, so the command will be given: “In place of every bad deed he committed, grant him a good deed!” He will therefore say: “I am guilty of sins that I do not see here!” Abu Dharr said: “I saw Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) smile so broadly that his molar teeth showed!”

[27] Abu Sa’id al-Khudri told that when some people asked God’s messenger whether they would see their Lord on the day of resurrection he replied, “Yes. Do you disagree about seeing the sun at noonday when it is unconcealed and there are no clouds, or do you disagree about seeing the moon on the night when it is full when it is unconcealed and there are no clouds?” On their replying that they did not, he said, “You will not disagree about the vision of God on the day of resurrection any more than you do about seeing one of them. When the day of resurrection comes a mu’adhdhinwill cry, `Let every people follow what it was worshipping.’ Then all who worshipped idols and stones apart from God will fall one after the other into hell, and when only the righteous and wicked who worshipped God are left the Lord of the universe will come to them and say, `What are you waiting for? Let every people follow what it was worshipping.’ They will reply, `Our Lord, we kept separate from the people in the world though we felt great need of them, and did not associate with them.’ (In Abu Huraira’s version they will say, `This is our place till our Lord comes to us, and when our Lord comes to us we shall recognize Him.’) In Abu Sa’id’s version He will say, `Is there a sign between you and Him by which you will recognize Him? On their replying that there is, things will be made plain[1]. Those who prostrated themselves before God for His sake will all be permitted by God to prostrate themselves, but those who prostrated themselves for self-protection and show will all have their backs made into one piece by God and will fall on the back of their necks as often as they wish to prostrate themselves. The bridge will then he set up over Jahannam and intercession will be allowed, and they[2] will say, `O God, keep safe, keep safe.’ The believers will then pass over like the twinkling of an eye, like lightning, like wind, like a bird, like the finest horses and camels. Some will escape and be kept safe, some will be lacerated and let go, and some will be pushed into the fire of Jahannam. Then when the believers are safe from hell, I swear by Him in whose hand my soul is that none of you is more eager to claim a right when it has become clear to you than those who believe in God will be on the day of resurrection to make claims on behalf of their brethren who are in hell. They will say, `0 our Lord, they were fasting along with us, praying and performing pilgrimage, and will be told to bring out those they recognize. Their faces will be protected from the fire and they will bring forth a large number of people, then say, `O our Lord, not one of those about whom Thou didst give us command remains in it.’ He will reply, `Go back and bring forth those in whose hearts you find as much as a dinar of good.’ When they have brought forth a large number of people He will say, `Go back and bring forth those in whose hearts you find as much as half a dinar of good.’ When they have brought forth a large number of people He will say, ‘Go back and bring forth those in whose hearts you find as much as an atom of good.’ When they have brought forth a large number of people they will say, `O our Lord, we have not left in it any good.’ Then God will say, ‘The angels have interceded, the prophets have interceded, the believers have interceded, and only the Most Merciful of the merciful ones remains.’ He will then take a handful from hell, bring forth from it people who never did any good, who have been turned into charcoal and cast them into a river at the outskirts of paradise called the river of life. They will come out as a seed comes out from the rubbish carried away by a flood, and they will come forth like pearls with seals on their necks. The inhabitants of paradise will say, `Those are they who have been set free by the Compassionate One who has brought them into paradise without anything they have done or any good they have sent before them.’ They will then be told that theirs is what they see and a like quantity along with it.”

Quran, 48:42 The reference is either to the beginning of terrors, or to the end of all mystery. The second of the two meanings given seems to fit this passage.

Presumably the Prophets, but later in this tradition reference is made to intercession having been made by angels, prophets and believers. Abu Huraira’s tradition however states that the messenger will say these words. [Bukhari and Muslim]

[29] He told that once when the Prophet was brought some meat and was offered the foreleg, which was a part he liked, he bit off a piece of it and then said, “I shall be the lord of mankind on the day of resurrection, the day when mankind will stand up before the Lord of the universe and the sun will draw near. Mankind will then experience a degree of care and anxiety which they will be unable to bear, so they will ask one another whether they cannot see anyone who may intercede for them with their Lord and will go to Adam.” He then mentioned the tradition about intercession and said, “I shall then set off and come below the Throne and fall down prostrating myself before my Lord, and after God has revealed to me some utterances of His praise and of a worthy manner of extolling Him which He had not revealed to anyone before me He will say, `Raise your head, Muhammad. If you make a request, it will be granted, and if you make intercession, it will be accepted.’ I shall then raise my head and say, `My people, O my Lord; my people, O my Lord; my people, O my Lord,’ and the reply will be given, `Bring in by the right gate of paradise, Muhammad, those of your people who are not taken into account, though they may equally enter by other gates along with mankind’.” He then said, “By Him in whose hand my soul is, the distance between the two halves of the gates of paradise is like that between Mecca and Hajar.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

[30] He reported God’s messenger as saying, “I shall be the first intercessor in paradise, no prophet having been believed to the extent I have. Among the prophets there is one who was believed by only one man out of his people.” [Muslim transmitted it]

[31] Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The believers will be kept (waiting) on the Day of Resurrection so long that they will become worried and say, “Let us ask somebody to intercede far us with our Lord so that He may relieve us from our place.

Then they will go to Adam and say, ‘You are Adam, the father of the people. Allah created you with His Own Hand and made you reside in His Paradise and ordered His angels to prostrate before you, and taught you the names of all things will you intercede for us with your Lord so that He may relieve us from this place of ours? Adam will say, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking.’ He will mention his mistakes he had committed, i.e., his eating off the tree though he had been forbidden to do so. He will add, ‘Go to Noah, the first prophet sent by Allah to the people of the Earth.’ The people will go to Noah who will say, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking’ He will mention his mistake which he had done, i.e., his asking his Lord without knowledge.’ He will say (to them), ‘Go to Abraham, Khalil Ar-Rahman.’ They will go to Abraham who will say, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking. He would mention three words by which he told a lie, and say (to them). ‘Go to Moses, a slave whom Allah gave the Torah and spoke to, directly and brought near Him, for conversation.’

They will go to Moses who will say, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking. He will mention his mistake he made, i.e., killing a person, and will say (to them), ‘Go to Jesus, Allah’s slave and His Apostle, and a soul created by Him and His Word.’ (Be: And it was.) They will go to Jesus who will say, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking but you’d better go to Muhammad the slave whose past and future sins have been forgiven by Allah.’ So they will come to me, and I will ask my Lord’s permission to enter His House and then I will be permitted. When I see Him I will fall down in prostration before Him, and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He will, and then He will say, ‘O Muhammad, lift up your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask (for anything) for it will be granted:’ Then I will raise my head and glorify my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me. Allah will put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people) I will take them out and make them enter Paradise.” (Qatada said: I heard Anas saying that), the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I will go out and take them out of Hell (Fire) and let them enter Paradise, and then I will return and ask my Lord for permission to enter His House and I will be permitted.

When I will see Him I will fall down in prostration before Him and He will leave me in prostration as long as He will let me (in that state), and then He will say, ‘O Muhammad, raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask, your request will be granted.’ ” The Prophet (ﷺ) added, “So I will raise my head and glorify and praise Him as He has taught me. Then I will intercede and He will put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people). I will take them out and let them enter Paradise.” (Qatada added: I heard Anas saying that) the Prophet said, ‘I will go out and take them out of Hell (Fire) and let them enter Paradise, and I will return for the third time and will ask my Lord for permission to enter His house, and I will be allowed to enter.

When I see Him, I will fall down in prostration before Him, and will remain in prostration as long as He will, and then He will say, ‘Raise your head, O Muhammad, and speak, for you will be listened to, and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask, for your request will be granted.’ So I will raise my head and praise Allah as He has taught me and then I will intercede and He will put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people). I will take them out and let them enter Paradise.” (Qatada said: I heard Anas saying that) the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “So I will go out and take them out of Hell (Fire) and let them enter Paradise, till none will remain in the Fire except those whom Quran will imprison (i.e., those who are destined for eternal life in the fire).” The narrator then recited the Verse:– “It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Station of Praise and Glory.’ (17.79) The narrator added: This is the Station of Praise and Glory which Allah has promised to your Prophet.

[33] It is reported by Abu Sa’id that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:The (permanent) inhabitants of the Fire are those who are doomed to it, and verily they would neither die nor live in it (al-Qur’an, xx. 47; lxxxvii. 13). But the people whom the Fire would afflict (temporarily) on account of their sins, or so said (the narrator)” on account of their misdeeds,” He would cause them to die till they would be turned into charcoal. Then they would be granted intercession and would be brought in groups and would be spread on the rivers of Paradise and then it would be said: O inhabitants of Paradise, pour water over them; then they would sprout forth like the sprouting of seed in the silt carried by flood. A man among the people said: (It appears) as if the Messenger of Allah lived in the steppe.

[34] Anas reported the Prophet as saying, “The believers will be restrained on the day of resurrection so that they will be concerned about that and express a desire to find an intercessor with their Lord that He may relieve them from the position in which they are placed. They will go to Adam and say, `You are Adam, the father of mankind, whom God created by His hand, whom He caused to dwell in His garden, to whom He made the angels do obeisance, and whom He taught the names of everything. Intercede for us with your Lord so that He may relieve us from this position in which we are placed.’ But he, mentioning the sin he committed by eating of the tree when he had been forbidden to do so, will reply, `I am not in a position to do that for you; go to Noah, the first prophet God sent to the inhabitants of the earth.’ They will then go to Noah and he, mentioning the sin he committed by making request of his Lord without knowledge,[1] will say, `I am not in a position to do that for you, but go to Abraham, the friend of the Compassionate One.’ They will then go to Abraham and he, mentioning three lies he told, will say, `I am not in a position to do that for you, but go to Moses, a servant to whom God brought, the Torah, to whom He spoke, and whom He brought near Him as a confidant.’ They will then go to Moses and he, mentioning the sin he committed when he took a life, will say, `I am not in a position to do that for you, but go to Jesus, God’s servant and messenger, God’s spirit and word.’ They will then go to Jesus and he will say, `I am not in a position to do that for you, but go to Muhammad, a servant whose former and latter sins have been forgiven him by God.’ They will then come to me and I shall ask permission to enter my Lord’s abode. When this is granted and I see Him I shall fall down in prostration, and God will leave me as long as He wishes to do so. He will then say, `Rise, Muhammad. If you speak you will be listened to, if you make intercession, it will be accepted, and if you make a request, it will be granted.’ I shall then raise my head and extol and laud my Lord in a manner He will teach me. I shall then make intercession, but He will appoint a limit for me after which I shall go out, bring them forth from hell and bring them into paradise. I shall return a second time and ask permission to enter my Lord’s abode. [35] ‘Abdallah b. ‘Amr b. al-‘As reported God’s Messenger as saying, “When you hear the mu’adhdhin repeat what he says, then invoke a blessing on me, for everyone who invokes one blessing on me will receive ten blessings from God. Then ask God to give me the wasila, which is a rank in paradise fitting for only one of God’s servants, and I hope that I may be the one. If anyone asks that I be given the wasila, he will be assured of my intercession. [Muslim transmitted it]

[39] It was narrated that ‘Ata bin Yazid said:”I was sitting with Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa’eed. One of them narrated the hadith about intercession and the other was listening. He said: ‘Then the angels will come and intercede, and the messengers will intercede.’ And he mentioned the Sirat, and said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘I will be the first one to cross it, and when Allah has finished passing judgment among His creation, and has brought forth from the Fire those whom He wants to bring forth, Allah will command the angels and the messengers to intercede, and they will be recognized by their signs, for the Fire will consume all of the son of Adam apart from the place of prostration. Then the water of life will be poured on them, and they will grow like seeds on the banks of a rainwater stream.”

[41] ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “I know of the last of the inhabitants of the Hell to be taken out from there and the last one to enter Jannah. He is a man who will come out of the Fire, crawling on all fours. Allah, the Rubb of glory and honour will say to him: ‘Go and enter Jannah.’ He will go to it and think that it is full up. He will then come back and say: ‘O my Rubb, it is full up.’ Allah will say to him: ‘Go and enter Jannah.’ He will again go to it and think that it is full up. So he will turn back. Allah will again say: ‘Go and enter Jannah. For you have what is equal to ten times the world.’ He will say: ‘Are You making fun of me while You are the King?” At this I (i.e., the narrator) saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) laugh till his premolars were visible and he said, Such man will be the last dweller of Jannah in its lowest rank.
